Barb Sabo | Baritone
Barb Sabo joined the ABB in 2000. Barb's husband, Chuck, plays cornet with the ABB. She works part-time as an optician. Her interest in music began in the 4th grade, when she experimented with clarinet, trumpet and baritone horn. She stayed with trumpet through high school, then "retired" from playing until after her & Chuck's children had graduated from college. She then decided to pick up an instrument again, concentrating on baritone horn and euphonium. Among her teachers are the late Matty Scheiner and Neil Tidwell as well as Aaron Booze, Lance LaDuke, Bruce Lazier and Dan Rose. In addition to playing baritone with the ABB, Barb plays euphonium with the Pittsburgh Letter Carriers Band (she was the band's first female member), Community Band South, West Hills Symphonic Band, South Hills Community Concert Band and the Pine Creek Concert Band.
