IMG_9818[1]Larry joined the Allegheny Brass Band in 2004. He started playing trumpet in 1967 and at the behest of his high school band director, Paul Gerlach, started studying trumpet privately with Anthony L. Pasquarelli in 1970. Upon graduation he attended Indiana University of PA where he studied trumpet with Dr. Calvin Weber and Dr. William Becker. After graduation from IUP in 1977 he continued playing trumpet (and harmonica!) in several wedding/soul/blues bands throughout the Pittsburgh area. Larry resumed studying privately with Mr. Pasquarelli in the late ‘80’s and continued until 2009. He also plays in the praise band at North Park Church in McCandless Twp and in pit orchestras for school and community productions throughout the area.Larry is currently employed as an administrator/sales rep at Johnstonbaugh’s Music Center in Gibsonia, PA and lives in McCandless Twp with his wife and two daughters who are involved in the band program in the North Allegheny School District.
